My dad asked me this morning if my sister and I wanted to buy fireworks to celebrate the New Year. And it kept me thinking... Aren't you just blowing up your money? Of course it's fun and all but I'd rather just watch the city's firework show. I can recall countless times where I'd burn my fingers with the clumsy handling of the lighter and when my cousins would "accidentally" poke me with the lighter-stick. Is it worth it to strain your retinas in the dark watching flashing sparkles and crackles? Is it worth it to inhale the toxic gases of the firework's ignition? In my opinion, I don't think so. I'd rather go to the bay and marvel at the "free" fireworks show in the sky. You're practically seeing money boom and crackle. But hey, at least it's not mine. BOOM BOOM! YAY! Look at my money sparkle! But, I have no problem with people buying them. It's good for the economy. I guess it's cool to see brilliant streaks of neon light in the darkness. And I for one, do. (I just use up my uncle's fireworks!) I love going to my families houses. Free fireworks. And hey, Thanks!
